VPSDATABASE.com - Switzerland - OpenVZ/KVM - starting from 6 USD per month - 512 MB RAM / 50 GB HDD

Disclaimer:

I am in no way affiliated with VPSDATABASE.com but I have been a customer of theirs for around 1 month. This server was benchmarked and reviewed whilst it was not in production. Therefore it should be noted that the below results are of a server currently being not used.

Introduction:

VPSDATABASE.com is offering 4 different types of KVM and OpenVZ based Virtual Private Servers
in Switzerland and USA. The cheapest server costs 6$ per month and is offering:
  •     50GB HDD
  •     512MB RAM
  •     1Gbit
  •     100 GB transfer
  •     full root
  •     SolusVM
I bought "VPS-1" one month ago.

First Start & Support & Communication

You buy the server by the WHCMS panel. That was quite easy, I got the login information within minutes.

The Control Panel is available under : http://panel.vpsdatabase.com:5353

I contacted the support several times and the response time was good and the staff very friendly. One thing I have to mention is, that they offer no SSL Connection on their webpage, but the admin told me, they will fix this at the beginning of 2014.

You can also pay by Bitcoin.

Its for sure a 1Gbit line as you can see with the Cachefly Results (actually their server is at the same DC), but their peering doesn't seem to be the best.

Conclusion:

I like VPSDATABASE.com very much because their support was very friendly, the speed is OK and you can buy by Bitcoin. I might also test their server in USA, maybe the speed is there better.
