Gohost.kz - Kasachstan - XEN- starting from 9.45 € / month - 256MB RAM / 4GB HDD

Disclaimer:

I am in no way affiliated with Gohost.kz but I have been a customer of theirs for around 1 month. This server was benchmarked and reviewed whilst it was not in production. Therefore it should be noted that the below results are of a server currently being not used.

Introduction:

Gohost.kz is offering 4 different types of XEN based Virtual Private Servers in Kazachstan.
The cheapest server "№1" costs 9.45  € per month and is offering:
  •     4 GB HDD
  •     256MB RAM
  •     100Mbit
  •     unlimited transfer
  •     full root
  •     SolusVM
I bought the server "№1" server.

First of all: If you don't know how to use Google Translate or you are not able to understand Russian, then I would not recommend this service.

First Start & Support & Communication

You buy the server by the WHCMS panel. Use Google Translate to input the correct personal information. You can pay by Credit Card as a European or American client. I don't remember which distributions they offer, I guess all standard. You can change it at any time at their SolusVM interface at https://95.57.120.200:5656/

I spoke with the support by ICQ before I bought the server, they had no problem to understand English and could give me correct infos.

The Network
The network port is a 100Mbit line. On their webpage they write it's 50 Mbit. I can only guess that the speed is a lower outside Kazachstan. Well, it was extremely low. It took again forever to run the speedtest script.

Well, at least its seems fast within Kazachstan.

The Port speed is 100Mbit, but you get only average results outside of Kazakhstan.

Conclusion:

Well, you can't expect a lot of speed in Kazakhstan, around 50Mbit is still ok in my opinion. If you need some "offshore" VPS, then Gohost.kz is a good choice for you.
